All images unless noted were taken with a 500mm f/15.6 OTA and various Sony CMOS sensors. The earlier images were taken with a Takahashi Mewlon-300CRS which is an excellent and highly recommended planetary telescope.
The Jupiter image taken on 8-21-23 is the first Jupiter image attempted with my 500mm OTA and was focused manually before installing electric focus.
I started using the Sony IMX678 sensor early in Jupiter’s opposition, 2024. The 2 micron pixels of the 678 are better suited to my 500mm f/15.6 focal length (7800mm fl).
